Quality management

Quality management

The development strategy of West Tallinn Central Hospital focuses on several key priorities that ensure comprehensive, high-quality care and patient satisfaction. These priorities include patient-centred care, inspiring development of staff and learning processes, continuous professional development and research, maintaining advanced diagnostic and treatment services, a supportive working environment, modern infrastructure, as well as reliable, up-to-date IT solutions.

Hospital treatment quality and patient safety committees systematically promote the development of a safety culture throughout the organisation. Staff training plays a central role each year in improving patient safety, ensuring that our employees always work in accordance with the latest knowledge and best practices. We also regularly conduct internal quality audits covering areas such as nursing care, documentation, and infection control. Our goal is to provide the safest possible treatment environment for every patient.

To analyse incidents and plan preventive measures, we use the Patient Safety Case Information System. The hospital information system is used to record complications and nursing quality indicators, as well as to plan further treatment and nursing interventions.

West Tallinn Central Hospital is also a teaching hospital. We consider it important to support the professional development of healthcare specialists, improve working conditions and ensure staff continuity in order to maintain high-quality care, patient-centred services, and the long-term sustainability of the hospital.
