Giving a blood sample and home samples

To take a blood sample from children, we recommend contacting the procedure room of Haabersti, Merimetsa or Mustamäe Health Centres, which are specially designed for children.

Urine sediment microscopy can only be performed in the laboratory on weekdays until 2:00 p.m.

For urine sediment microscopy, it is recommended to provide a urine sample in the morning. For urine dipstick analysis, urine sediment microscopy, clinical chemistry and microbiological studies, the first mid-morning urine is most suitable. We ask that the urine sample be delivered to the laboratory as soon as possible after collection. If this is not possible, the sample must be delivered to the laboratory within 2 hours at the latest, and stored at a temperature of +2...+8 °C.

Please note that urine sediment microscopy tests received after 2:00 p.m. and on weekends will be rejected by the laboratory, as the quality requirements of the test cannot be guaranteed in such cases.
