About the centre

The Pathology Centre comprises laboratories for histology, cytology, and immunohistochemistry.

The Pathology Laboratory is a EAK poolt akrediteeritud meditsiinilaborregistration number M009.

The Pathology Department is located at Paldiski mnt 68, 10617 Tallinn.

Specimens are received on weekdays from 8am to 4pm.

We carry out the following tests:

  • biopsy – histological examination of tissue obtained by surgical or endoscopic methods
  • histological examination of surgically removed organs or tissue specimens
  • cytological (cell-level) examinations
  • rapid intraoperative (frozen section) examinations
  • immunohistochemical studies

The requirements for collecting, packaging and submitting pathology specimens, as well as completing the relevant referral documentation, are set out in the Pathology Sample Collection Manual.

Issuing of data carriers

The Pathology Department issues preparation slides and tissue/cell blocks only on request.
To place an order, please email the relevant information to patoloogia@keskhaigla.ee.

All data carriers issued by the Pathology Department must be returned. The customer is responsible for the return.
