Rehabilitation physician consultation

What does a rehabilitation physician do?

A rehabilitation physician assesses the patient’s health, mobility, ability to carry out daily activities, and rehabilitation needs. During the consultation, the physician determines which treatment will best help restore or maintain the patient’s independence in everyday life and quality of life.

If necessary, the physician develops a treatment plan and refers the patient to appropriate rehabilitation services, such as physiotherapy, therapeutic exercise or massage.
