Price list for outpatient specialist care

Paid outpatient specialist care is available in the following situations:
  • When a patient wishes to see a specialist in a speciality that normally requires a referral, but does not have one.
  • When a patient requests an examination or procedure without a referral (please note that a referral is always required for radiological examinations and certain procedures).
  • When a patient wishes to be seen sooner than the waiting time permitted under the Health Insurance Fund contract.
  • When a patient does not have health insurance through the Health Insurance Fund.
Payment for paid outpatient specialised medical care services:
  • Fees are charged in accordance with the current price list.
  • The fee for a private specialist consultation is €85, whether for an initial or follow-up appointment.
  • Payment must be made at the reception desk before the consultation takes place.
  • If additional tests, investigations, or procedures are recommended during a private consultation, these will also be chargeable. The clinician will issue an invoice and inform the patient of the total amount payable. Payment is made at the health centre or polyclinic reception desk.
  • If a follow-up appointment is recommended after a private consultation, the follow-up visit will also be chargeable.

*Certain examinations are referred by a colorectal (proctology) surgeon, who will explain the reason for the investigation and provide preparation instructions.

**If the patient is referred for an exercise stress test or echocardiography as part of a private consultation with a specialist at West Tallinn Central Hospital, the service will be charged in accordance with the Health Insurance Fund price list (Exercise Stress Test – Code 6324; Comprehensive Echocardiography – Code 6340). see the price list of the Health Insurance Fund here.
