Cryotherapy
Cryotherapy, also known as cold therapy, is a treatment in which skin lesions such as warts and other benign growths are frozen with liquid nitrogen. It is commonly used in dermatology, rheumatology, surgery, and cosmetology.
The procedure usually lasts between 5 and 45 seconds. The exact duration, drug methodology, and the need for repeat treatment depend on the individual condition being treated.
During the procedure, liquid nitrogen creates a cold sensation on the skin, which may feel like a slight tingling. After the procedure, the area may feel sore for 2-3 hours. A tingling sensation can last from 20 minutes to two hours. A blister may develop at the treatment site, which typically settles within 1–2 weeks as a scab forms and the skin heals. Aftercare advice is provided according to the diagnosis. If necessary, a follow-up (paid) appointment may be arranged.
We treat patients from the age of 5 years.
A doctor's referral is required to access the procedure.
Admission is paid.
The cost of any procedures performed is added to the consultation fee, in accordance with the West Tallinn Central Hospital price list for paid services.
For private (self-funded) services, payment must be made at reception before the appointment and procedure is carried out. Payment can be made by cash or card. When attending a paid appointment, the standard €5 visit fee does not apply.
